Discovering Martins Bay

Martins Bay is located on the southern edge of Scandrett Regional Park on the Mahurangi Peninsula. This picturesque beach, known for its white sand and safe swimming conditions, faces east into the Hauraki Gulf. You can enjoy stunning views of Kawau Island, Motuketekete Island, Moturekareka Island, and Motuora Island from the shore.

Although it is slightly further away than other beaches on the Matakana Coast of Auckland, its relative seclusion means it is less crowded, offering a peaceful retreat. The area also features a substantial commercial campground with various accommodation options.

Scenic Strolls and Swimming

A walk along the southern end of Martins Bay is particularly appealing, with magnificent pōhutukawa trees lining the grassy reserve behind the beach. These trees provide perfect spots for a picnic under their shade. For those looking to enjoy the water, there is a pontoon available for swimming and jumping into the sea.

At the northern end of the beach, you will find the Martins Bay Track. This short but steep trail leads into Scandrett Regional Park, offering further opportunities for exploration and adventure.
