To reach Pakawau Inlet, travel north from Collingwood on Collingwood-Puponga Main Road. The inlet is accessible directly from this main road. Nearby walking tracks include the Kaihoka Lakes Track, located north of Whanganui Inlet, the Puponga Hilltop Walk, and the short Wharariki Beach Track.
