Located in the Waitākere Ranges, Kaitarakihi Point (Huia Point on Google Maps), is a scenic viewpoint accessible by car from Huia Road. This spot provides a unique opportunity to enjoy elevated views of the Manukau Harbour and its surroundings without the need for a hike.

From this viewpoint, you can take in the expansive vistas of Huia, Little Huia, and the surrounding peaks. To the southwest, the entrance to the Manukau Harbour is visible, offering a picturesque scene, especially in the evening. This makes it an ideal stop after exploring the trails around Huia and Whatipū.
How to Get There
To reach Kaitarakihi Point, drive along Huia Road, between Cornwallis and Huia. Look out for the sign indicating the viewpoint - it is easy to miss.
