Raumati is a beach suburb on the Kāpiti Coast, between Paekākāriki and Parparaumu. It is distinctively suburban, with houses backing onto the beach, protected by a causeway. However, there is a pleasant walkway along the beach, which is also a section of Te Araroa.
The beach continues the sweeping 14 km of sand from Paekākāriki to Waikanae Estuary. It is a perfect spot for shots up and down the coast and toward Kāpiti Island and the open Tasman Sea at sunset.
