Te Waha Point lies between Piha and Whites Beach. It can be accessed from North Piha on the Marawhara Track and White Track, then walk down a steep right-of-way from Anawhata Road to a side track to the point. You can also drive from Piha Road along Anawahata Road and park near the right-of-way.
Once on the point, the view is spectacular. From the cliff edge stone seat immediately in front of the point, look directly along Piha Beach. Walk further up onto the point for superb views of Whites Beach. Try to be there at golden hour.
There is an obvious, easy path to Whites Beach from the point. For a more adventurous path, follow the sign immediately before the point. It marks a rough track that sidles around the point's edge and then back through some pohutukawa trees above the cliff. Keep going to the wire rope, and use this to safely walk down a rocky section of the cliff to the beach. It can be a bit slippery, so take extra care, and it’s probably easier coming up than going down.
