Discover Raglan Domain: A Coastal Gem

Raglan Domain, also known as Kopua Domain, is a picturesque beach reserve located just west of Raglan town centre at the end of Putoetoe Point. This 18-hectare area offers a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational activities, making it an ideal spot for visitors. The reserve, gifted by Māori to the town in 1923, was intended to be a "playground for Raglan people of both races for all time."

Nearby the reserve, there is a commercial campground and Raglan airfield.

Natural Features and Activities

Located between the tidal mouth of Whaingaroa Harbour and one of its branches, Raglan Domain has stunning black sand beaches along its edge. The harbour estuary provides a safe environment for swimming, and there are a variety of amenities, including a playground, a skate park adorned with colourful graffiti, a boat ramp, toilets, and changing rooms.
