Exploring Ligar Bay's Golden Sands
Ligar Bay, located at the northeast end of Golden Bay on the South Island of New Zealand, is renowned for its golden sand beach. This picturesque spot is the first of such beaches you encounter before entering Abel Tasman National Park. The bay is easily accessible via the scenic Abel Tasman Drive.

How to Get to Ligar Bay
To reach Ligar Bay from Tākaka, head northeast on Abel Tasman Drive to the east side of Tasman Bay. The road then follows the coast east towards the national park. The bay is located immediately after the Abel Tasman Monument. From Tākaka, it is a 12 km drive and takes about 15 minutes.
