To access Owharoa Falls, follow the Karangahake Gorge via car or bike to Waitawheta Rd along a section of the Hauraki Rail Trail. This takes you immediately to the Falls. There is an obvious parking area, then a short walk to the falls. It is probably one of the prettiest waterfalls in NZ due to its fan shape. If you continue up the road and stop near the bridge above the falls, you will also see a series of smaller falls and slides before the main event.
You can also drive from Waitawheta Rd onto Dickey Rd and down to a lovely campground at Dickey Flat. From here, you can connect to the Windows Walk and access the other trails around the Karangahake Reserve, plus other tracks on the northeast side of the range.
