Medlands

Medlands Beach is a beautiful crescent-shaped, mostly white-sand surf beach with several easy points of access from a coastal link road. Although there are houses near the beach, there are only a few people around. Camping is available at the south end of the beach.

The beach can be reached from the main road, which runs from the southeast end of Aotea Great Barrier Island (often windy and narrow) to the northeast end. It is a sealed road from Medlands through Claris and the Aotea Conservation Park to Okiwi. It is then an unsealed road to Whangapoua Beach.
