Lake Person is a pretty lake overlooked by Purple Hill on the side of State Highway 73, the West Coast Highway. It is between Goldney Saddle and the Craigieburn access road. It’s a good place to stop for a snack and a swim and also has a campground. The willow trees around the western edge of the lake provide some shelter on a hot day, and you can fish for trout and salmon in season.
Two smaller lakes are nearby and can be reached from the highway. Lake Sarah is 2.5 km along Craigieburn Road, and Lake Grassmere is on a private accessway.
