Laird Thomson Track

Laird Thomson Track

Laird Thomson Track provides the quickest way to access relatively remote Whites Beach via Te Waha Point from North Piha.

This is a short but spectacular walk, climbing 100 metres above the beach to the point, with views up and down the coast. From the point, there is an easy route down as well as a more challenging short cut down the cliff, helped by an attached wire. Allow about 20 minutes for the shortcut and 30 for the easy way.

The track is also a section of a longer loop. Access White Track from near the Piha Surf Club, hike up to to Anawhata Road, then down to Te Waha Point/Whites Beach, then back to North Piha.

Try to hit Te Waha Point and North Piha beach at sunset.
