The goblin forests are the major flora and fauna feature around Mount Taranaki. However, a trip to Dawson Falls in late spring is a good time to capture various examples of the native flowers around the forest. Although the kotukutuku (native tree fuchsia) and daisies are commonplace, several others were novel.
Choose one of the nearby tracks that connect to the Dawson Falls car park, such as the easy Wilkies Pools and Dawson Falls, and start exploring. Feel free to play identify the flower!
