Douglas

The only-just-a-hamlet of Douglas on the Forgotten World Highway more or less marks the start of the flatter terrain of the Taranaki dairy country as the road heads to Stratford.

It was once a bit bigger and had several businesses, including a brickworks, a major stockyard and a rail station. Today, it is more of a quaintly idyllic rural locality.
