The Cable Bay Walkway starts beside the main car park at the end of the Cable Bay boulder bank. From there, head straight up the grassy hill to the top, 250 metres above the bay. This is all about the superb views. From the top, you get a sense of how big Tasman Bay is as you look across the bay to Abel Tasman National Park.
You can continue on the walkway through a mix of farmland, exotic pines, and native bush for a couple of hours to Gleduan, a small beachside settlement northeast of Nelson. This beach is pebbles and rocks.
