Anatori is a small hamlet and campsite on the mouth of the Anatori River. There are beaches on either side of the mouth, including some interesting cliffs. This is for you if you like your holidays in remote places you can still drive to!
You can generally ford the Anatori River and continue a bit further to the Turimawiwi River mouth, although it was running too high on this trip for our car. If you can go further, take the time to explore more of the coast, with a walkable coastline to Kahurangi Point from Turimawiwi River (allow 3 hours each way). The Kahurangi Keepers House near the point is a DOC hut for an overnight option.
