Discovering Te Ana-o-Rongomaipapa Bay
Located next to Rārangi at the north end of Cloudy Bay / Te Koko O Kupe in Marlborough, Te Ana-o-Rongomaipapa Bay, also known as Monkey Bay, offers a hidden gem for those who venture to find it. The short walk begins with a brief climb up a staircase, rewarding you with a breathtaking panorama across Cloudy Bay before descending to the bay itself, where you'll find a small beach and cave.
Exploring the Bay and Its Features
Upon reaching the beach, you will find a narrow tunnel that can be safely navigated at low tide. While the bay is not typically a place for lingering, it does have some graffiti—something not commonly found in New Zealand's natural settings.
Additional Tracks and Nearby Attractions
Behind the car park, a short track leads to another cave entrance. Additionally, a steep trail over the headland leads to Pukatea / Whites Bay, a larger bay situated along the coast.
