Short Walk on the Glencoe Stream Track
Glencoe Stream Track is a short walk tucked behind the Hermitage Hotel in Mt Cook Village, Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, offering a quick escape into native bush and a fine viewpoint. This short walk is perfect if you have only a few minutes to spare, providing a taste of the beech forest and alpine views without leaving the village.
The track begins from the hotel’s rear car park and climbs steeply for about 10 minutes through a shaded forest, including shrubbery, mountain beech trees and ribbonwood. At the top, there is a view across the valley to the Sealy Range and Aoraki / Mt Cook.
Getting There
Start from the Hermitage Hotel car park in Mt Cook Village. The track is a short, well-formed path suitable for most walkers.
If you have more time, continue with the Governors Bush Track, which begins nearby and offers a longer forest loop or explore the Hooker Valley, Sealy Tarns, Kea Point, Governors Bush and Tasman Lake tracks.
